This site belongs to authors Sam Withrow and Amelia Pinkis (“we”). We collect very little, and only to stay in touch with readers who ask us to.
What we collect and why
- Reader circle sign-ups: your email address (and first name if you give it), so we can send the free first chapter, release news and giveaway entries. Our newsletter is delivered by Kit (kit.com), which stores the list for us.
- Contact form: your name, email, optional phone number and message, which arrive in our inbox so we can reply.
- Blog comments: the name and comment you post. Comments are reviewed before they appear and are shown publicly once approved. We do not publish email addresses.
- Security logs: to stop spam, the site briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address for up to a day.
What we do not do
We never sell or rent your information, and we do not use advertising trackers. The site uses no tracking cookies; it remembers small preferences in your own browser (for example, that you closed the chapter offer).
Links to other sites
Buttons such as “Buy on Amazon” and the share links take you to other companies’ sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete anything we hold about you, write to us through the contact page and we will do it within 30 days.
Children
The site is meant for adult and young-adult readers aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
